Jobs Rated Report 2017: Ranking 200 Jobs

CareerCast.com:
Research from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ American Time Use Survey indicates the majority of adults in the United States spend 8.8 hours a day on their careers, or on activities directly related. Over a 5-day week, that translates to 44 hours, and that totals more than one-quarter of our lives.

CareerCast.com’s Jobs Rated report aims to provide a general snapshot of 200 careers every year, using key criteria: Income, Growth Outlook, Work Environment and Stress. The results offer a glimpse into this fundamental aspect of day-to-day life.

The Jobs Rated report has tracked for almost 30 years, and in that time, the labor market’s changed dramatically.

Some of the careers ranking among the Top 10 best jobs of 2017 illustrate these changes. Careers in mathematics rank highly, with Statistician, Mathematician and Data Scientist all in the top 10 — but these jobs aren’t just about numbers in the current landscape. A career in one of these mathematical fields can translate into work in healthcare, business, marketing, even entertainment.
